Youth Building the Future 2025: the legal mistake thousands are making without realizing it

The Youth Building the Future 2025 program is back with new openings and more affiliated companies. While thousands of young people are celebrating, others are already facing legal problems, suspensions, loss of benefits, and even administrative investigations… all because of one detail almost nobody pays attention to.

Speaking from experience advising young participants and workplaces: the platform does not forgive mistakes, and legally, neither does the Government of Mexico.

And if you don’t want to lose your scholarship or get into trouble, keep reading.

The most common mistake: submitting incorrect information on the platform

It sounds simple, but one of the main causes of suspension is providing inconsistent information, especially:

  • CURP errors
  • Address not matching the INE
  • Duplicate registrations (automatically detected)
  • Incorrect workplace assignment

The Youth Building the Future platform cross-checks data with RENAPO, SAT, and Bienestar.
If discrepancies are found, you can be suspended without prior notice.

From a legal standpoint, this falls under:
false official information
administrative non-compliance
misuse of a public program

The most serious legal risk: sharing your data with unregulated companies

Many young people accept invitations from companies that:

  • are not formally registered,
  • do not comply with safety regulations,
  • or even use your personal data for unauthorized purposes.

This is a direct violation of the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data.
And the one who suffers the consequences is you.

Most participants don’t know they can request legal support when:

  • the tutor forces you to perform unauthorized tasks
  • they require you to work extra hours
  • they pressure you to share personal documents
  • they threaten to report you so your scholarship is removed

In those cases, you have the right to receive legal advice.

What to do if you were unfairly suspended

  1. Download your activity history.
  2. Gather screenshots and communications with your tutor.
  3. Submit a clarification request to Bienestar.
  4. If they don’t respond, you can start an administrative procedure.

This is especially effective if the suspension was caused by system errors.
